"Help! I have so many questions!" If they are not answered here, then shoot me an email.

I'm happy to help. Or fill out this form and let's get started.

01

What if I just need makeup? What if I just need photos?

That's fine, sometimes I just apply makeup. I'm happy to do my first love! Busy times of the year and Saturdays I may have a minimum required number of people though. If you just need a photographer, I also just do that. Portraiture  is my specialty and you can learn more about my work and services at amykubik.com

02

Do you also do hair?

I am not a hairdresser, those who are good at that have mad skills and have spent tons of time learning to manage all the different hair types, many styles, and trends. It is a whole seperate artform and while there are some that can do both well (like I do makeup and photography) I think it is difficult to acheive great results in both areas on large parties.

03

Do you do airbrush makeup? Isn't that the best?

Nope, I don't and I'll tell you the reasons. I am a classically trained Bobbi Brown makeup artist. We are taught to look at the face of our clients and establish where coverage is most necessary. For some it just around the eyes and nose, while others require more coverage. The point is to know the difference to achieve the most natural look in foundation application. This does not mean you can't look glamorous! Bright lips, smokey eyes and false lashes will take care of that if it's what you are looking for. And airbrush is extremely water resistant. To the point where if Aunt Edna steals a kiss on your cheek, her hot pink lip stain may impossible to remove. Do you really want to be fending off well wishers for fear of messing up your makeup? Trust your photographer and their retouching skills to take care of anything you may be self conscious about. You really want to just look like yourself on your best day for your event.

Do you offer a trial makeup session?

But of couse darling, I actually recommend one. This is where we will work out the kinks, try different things and see how long your makeup lasts. If a particular area wears off, then we know to apply more from the start. Trial makeups are held in my Cold Spring home on Tuedays from 9AM until 3PM for $50 and take about an hour. Book me that day with a non-refundable deposit of $50 to hold your date and I will take an additional $25 off your total the day of your wedding or event.

05

So then how much do you cost? I've got a budget!

Well now that depends. Are we just doing makeup or are you taking advantage of having a photographer at your fingertips too? Makeup artistry generally starts at $150. Let's talk about your needs such as large parties and/or combined with photography and see what we can work out. If you are getting married, talk to your photographer about hiring me to help and you will get and experienced assistant as well as a makeup artist for your entire event. Email me with your details for an estimate today! Want to pay your deposit? Use the Paypal "Buy Now" button below.
